Fifteen engravings bound in decorative card covers with cloth spine. Each engraving published by J. (and sometimes E.) Harwood, London, with respective number and title. In order of appearance in the volume they are: No. 508 : Kendal ~ Jan. 1, 1843 (general heavy foxing). No. 355 : Greta Hall and Keswick Bridge ~ W. Westall / E. Francis (margins foxed & hint to plate). No. 597 : Skiddaw & Bassenthwaite Water ~ June 1, 1845 (heavy at edges, plate not bad. Unnumbered : Crummock Water & Buttermere ~ August 17, 1842 (hints to edges and one shadow above date). No. 715 : Borrowdale from Stye Head / Scawfell ~ Sept. 12, 1846 (plate not bad but pea-sized spots in & around). Unnumbered : Bowder Stone, Borrowdale ~ Sept. 27, 1842 (light to margins, hints to plate. Unnumbered : Weswater, Cumberland ~ Sept. 15, 1842 (clean but for light dot lower right corner margin). No. 784 : The Ferry Point, Windermere lake, Westmoreland ~ July 20, 1849 (clean save for hint top centre). Unnumbered : Windermere from Bowness ~ July 11, 1842 (clean but for shadow along lower edge of plate). Unnumbered : Windermere Lake, Westmoreland ~ June 10, 1842 (entirely clean). No. 910 : The Village of Bowness / Windermere ~ Aug 10, 1846 (spots surrounding image). No. 598 : Conistone Water / Lancashire ~ Sep. 4, 1845 (shadows top left of plate). Unnumbered : Rydal Lake, Westmoreland ~ Sept. 16, 1842 (light foxing upper half). No. 599 : Grasmere ~ Aug. 6, 1845 (plate not bad but surrounded by light splotches). No. 433 : Ambleside, Westmoreland ~ Aug. 27, 1842 (general heavy foxing). Book measures 8.7 x 5.25 inches. Binding is sturdy, with original endpapers inked at front (pictured), clear at rear. Each plate has a blank paper leaf guard. Foxing to most plates to varying degree, with a few entirely clean. Please consult the photos for a representative sampling (and by all means request specific photos if interested). It is worth comparing the specific titles in this series with the copy of another issue held at Yale that has 12 views (worldcat); five views in ours are not present in theirs.
