Acerca de

One by one the members of a family awake one cold November morning to discover that during the night there has been a beautiful snowfall.

From School Library Journal:

PreS One by one, as the members of a family awaken on a cold November Monday, they are all stirred by the feeling that ``something is going to happen.'' When they open the front door together, they discover, to their surprise and delight, the first snow of winter. Zolotow once again demonstrates her ability to make a common experience dramatic and meaningful. Rhythm and repetition empower short, simple sentences, skillfully paced to build anticipation. The rounded shapes and muted hues of Stock's watercolor paintings enhance the story's sense of homey security, and contrast successfully with the snowy white double-page spread which serves as its climax. One of the greatest strengths of Something Is Going to Happen is that the child is central to the story, both as protagonist and as audience. Kathleen T. Horning, Madison Public Library, Wis.
