Generations Press sells used books of interest to genealogists, focusing on Jewish genealogy, California research, and immigration and naturalization records. Our listings don't use "stock images" - all photos are of the actual book for sale. And we don't use generic book descriptions, either - each book is described as thoroughly as possible, since you can't pick it up and look it over when shopping online. Our shipping rates are based on 3 lbs. USPS Media Mail postage, a rate which has been rising rapidly over the past few years (and has nearly doubled since I joined ABE in 2017). Whenever possible, shipping will be reduced for lighter books. While our shipping rates may be higher than some other sellers (who are charging less than it costs to ship books), please be assured that your books will be well packaged for safe delivery and will be as described on the website.

Books are shipped by USPS Media Mail, unless expedited shipping in requested, in which case shipping is by USPS Priority Mail. Books are packaged in padded envelopes or boxes, depending on size and weight. (Light-weight books are usually shipped in bubble-wrap padded envelopes to reduce weight and postage, while heavier books are wrapped in bubble wrap and packaged in boxes to better protect the books.)
