Dark green cloth covers are mostly clean, with blind tooled frame. Boards show some edgewear, with a mark on cover and ding at bottom edge. Corners are worn, with some exposed board. Spine has gilt text and is a little faded, with chipped and softened ends. Binding is strong. Ex libris book inscribed on free end paper. Endpapers and feps have moderate staining. Frontispiece is present. Photographic illustrations are clear. Interior is age-toned. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks, with the exception of page 368, emendation by owner. Part of the congregation of German Baptists, Price fled religious persecution and arrived in Germantown, Pa. in 1719. His descendants were numerous, as is evidenced by this volume.** The compiler, George F.P. Wanger, was related to Price through his mother, Rebecca Price Wanger.** Owner's inscription reads in part: "Property of Norman F. Alderfer, Souderton, Pa." Norman Alderfer, born in 1907, is listed in the Index, together with members of his family.
