Almost impossible to find complete this copy is very close to being complete. Lacking title & prelims A1-B8. Matthew, Mark & John textually complete [Mark lacking final blank leaf only]. Acts lacking 6 leaves. Overall a very good copy, minimal marks, light blemishes or paper repairs. Half a dozen leaves with marginal losses or paper repairs else a very solid and clean, crisp copy. A few water marks/stains. Very hard to find in this condition. VOLUME 2: Small slim folio [11.00 tall x 8.00 wide x 2.00 thick]. ESTC ref 006207157. STC 2854.6. A superb copy of the incredibly rare second tome of the Paraphrase Upon The Newe Testament by Erasmus. Significantly more rare than the first tome. Scarcely seen available on the market, let alone a textually complete copy in fine condition. Collates complete textually, lacking the title page only. Complete thereafter, collates [11], xliiii, xliiii, xliii-lxiiii, xvi, [5], xv, [1], x, x, xi, [1], i-xxxi, xxxi-xxxiii, i-xxvii, [3], i-liiii, [2], i-xl. Large engraved printer s device to the rear of the final leaf. Two blank leaves bound between other sections rather than with the [5] leaves to the centre. A fine copy in excellent, crisp and clean copy. First two leaves with professional marginal paper repairs, not affecting text. Tiny single wormhole approx. 1mm from middle of Timothy through to the close. Difficult to notice in places. Final leaf with inner professional marginal tissue paper repair. Overall a delightful copy of this rare work. Both volumes uniformly re-bound in full calf. Raised bands, blind lines and matching hand-tooled gilt-lettered labels to the spine.
