Here is bound Volume 3 of The Idler Magazine published by Chatto and Windus in London. This volume contains the six issues dated February through July, 1893. Bound in dark brown pebbled cloth, spine stamped in gilt, and with marbled endpapers. Pages 279-291 contain H. Rider Haggard's My First Book: Dawn. In this non-fiction article, Haggard describes his first efforts as writing up to and about his first novel. Includes a full page illustration by G. and B. Hutchinson as well as numerous b/w photos by Fradelle and Young. This volume also includes numerous other stories by Bret Harte, Rudyard Kipling, Jerome K.Jerome and many more. Also, "Royal Pets" The Queen's Animals illustrated by E. M. Jessop. VG condition binding with wear to spine ends and minor loss of cloth along hinge, cracked hinges.
