Rare DJ present, albeit in fragile condition: split along spine, missing one long strip along head edge, tears at fore edge creases, small tears and chips along other edges, discoloration at some tears from now-absent cellophane tape. Dust jacket replicates book's pictorial covers. Some wear to book cover edges and corners. Binding is sound: stapled signatures tight, no noticeable wear to endpapers. Pages lightly tanned at edges from age, clean and unmarked. From inside front dust jacket: "Fairy tales never wear out their welcome with children. Here are four of the most beloved: The Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, The Real Princess, and The Seven Dancing Princesses. These stories have been simplified for younger children without losing any of their appeal. But only half of the attraction of fairy tales lies in the text. Children want to see the beautiful princess, the handsome prince and the ugly witch. They see them vividly indeed in the inspired pictures Miss Barnes has made for this book.". The shipping cost covers postage and packaging. We do not inflate the shipping costs so that we can list the book at a lower price, nor do we inflate the price of the book to cover increased shipping costs. Shipping costs are based on books weighing less than 2 lbs. (0.91 kg). Delivery Confirmation is included with standard U.S. (Media Mail) shipping. If your book order is heavy or oversized, or if there is a shipping cost statement at the end of the book description with a higher rate, you will be contacted by AbeBooks via email to approve the additional shipping charge. If the shipping statement indicates a lower rate, we will reduce your shipping charge when we process your order. The default rates are set to cover the cost of shipping a two-pound book to the most expensive destination within each category. Whenever possible we will discount the default shipping charge based on the actual cost of postage for your book(s) to your destination. Because of the risks inherent to mailing we will not ship any book without a packing slip which includes the package¿s destination and a return address. For an additional fee of $3.00, books can be shipped directly to your customer with your return address and/or have the price markings removed. Please specify in the Special Instructions section, and approve the request for extra charges that will follow. We are unable to honor special requests unless they are included in the Special Instructions section or made via email correspondence (Book Inquiries, etc.) that takes place before we process your order. Instructions embedded in the destination address are not available to us until after the order is processed and will be ignored.
