Photographic Essay on families around the world. Laid in on her professional stationery ( with her facsimile signature along side "Photographer" 1331 Green Street, San Francisco 9. Telephone Prospect 5-6316} is a typed letter SIGNED by Imogen Cunningham in red pencil. . It is wriiten to Carolyn Wilson after the birth of her daughter. Carolyn is related to Adrian Wilson, a San Francisco sign-press printer who was a colleague and friend of Imogen's. It reads: Dear Carolyn, Altho I was not quite prophetic enough, I did have this book ready to bring over to you on Saturday, when I got the call to go to Sonoma. I did not forget it but as I got back only last night, I expected to have time to run over today and give you the family before you got one. I missed, so here it is for the hospital and judging by your livel;y self last night, I have no doubt you will be up to looking it over and mentally commenting. Also, I now have a thought -- why don't you name your daughter WOODROW and be done with it. No more thinking. It does go well with Wilson, even on luggage. Love, Imogen (Tuesday, Oct. 10th., 1967) An interesting association copy of book .Book is tight & generally clean, unmarked.
