Emile Wegelin (1875 - 1962) was a French landscape painter born to wealthy Swiss parents. He enjoyed a comfortable life and was able to pursue his artistic career without financial constraints. One of his earliest mentors was Emile Noirot, a prominent artist from the Loire region. Wegelin also regularly visited and worked with leading artists in the Lyon region. The artist who most influenced Wegelin was Pierre Montezin, with whom he studied and worked for many years. They traveled together on numerous painting expeditions throughout France and Italy. Wegelin was a prolific painter and exhibited regularly at the Spring exhibition of the Societe Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, where he obtained First Prize in 1930. He also exhibited in Provence, Lausanne, and Fribourg. N° de ref. del artículo 20230903012
