Illustrated by J. Jackson. An early novel set in New Zealand. This work was reprinted several times in the late 19th century. This is the first edition, with 1862 imprint (in Roman numerals) on the title page. "Lucy Graham was working very hard at a number of fancy bags and baskets, evidently intended for a Christmas tree, when her brother George entered the room." - the opening sentence.
