Two volumes in a specially constructed slipcase. 9 1/8 inches x 12 5/8 in., engraved portrait frontispiece of Goldsmith (this shows light offsetting to the title-page); typographic title-page with border and design in green. [8]pp., pp. [i]-xli, pp. [1]-24 + numbered colophon page. Facsimile of the London, 1770 edition: 7 1/4 inches x 9 1/8 in., reproduction of half-title; title-page with vignette; vii, 23 pp. + numbered colophon page. The larger volume is printed on a special VGZ paper with the name: John Henry Nash & unicorn watermarks; borders and border designs printed in green, Vellum spines, with mounted, gilt-lettered leather title labels on the spines, light green paper over boards, top-edges gilt. In a sturdy, light green paper-covered slipcase, with a printed paper title label on the spine, and two compartments for the two, different sized books. The leather label on the facsimile volume shows some chipping, lower right page corner of the half-title of the facsimile is chipped off; the paper on the slipcase shows some darkening, dusting, some of the paper is worn off on the slipcase corners, front edges. With the printed slip present in the front of the larger volume: Compliments of William Andrews Clark, Jr. Christmas Mdccccxxvi [1926]. Weight: 4 lbs. Postage may be extra on this item.
