7 inches x 11 3/4 in., commercial Day Book, of 200 pages, with printed lines & numbering. Gray, textured cloth with titling printed on the front cover, inked titling on the spine, cloth-reinforced inner hinges. The spine ends, covers show some wear, dusting; the pasted articles show age-related tanning, some of the items show typical brittleness of the paper. Nearly every page is pasted over with newspaper clippings from many sources, mostly 1900-1901, both Republican & Democratic material, including material about W. J. Bryan, Theodore Roosevelt, William McKinley, Hanna. Some articles are dated or identified in ink; both national newspapers and Ohio newspapers from Elyria, Cleveland, etc., are represented. A few newsprint type political ballots are pasted in, as well as a few political pamphlets, or related materials, and a copy of a 20 pp. section of: The Daily Inter-Ocean, Chicago, September 14, 1901 with stories on (assassinated) President McKinley, and President to be, Theodore Roosevelt. Some newspaper cartoons are present, the cartoonists include: Glackens, Carter, C. D. Gibson, Gunning King, Barrie, F. Opper ("Wouldn't It Make You Mad" Hearst, 1901), and others; most of these cartoons are regarding the evils of drink. The volume is not indexed.
