Brown buckram with gilt and black decoration to front board and gilt ttiles to spine. Rubbed along edges and tear to cloth to spine has been repaired. Owners name to front end paper. Very occasional blemish to text otherwise clean. Binding secure but a little shaky. A comprehensive guide to cooking and housekeeping for the young housewife. The recipes are designed so that they can be easily understood by an inexperienced cook, and the dishes are economical with readily accessible ingredients (for the time) also included are numerous household tips and remedies.
