2 Vols, xix 245 243 pages, TEG, small 4to., illustrations including etchings by Percy Thomas + drawings etc, limited to 350 numbered copies, bound in the original 1/4 velum binding over green cloth boards, gilt fish vignette to spines and flying heron in gilt to upper board, in the original cloth DJs, some offsetting to EPs from DJs. This edition is edited with notes from a naturalist's point of view J.E. Harting who was librarian of the Linnear Society. There are 45 illus these consist of 43 full page engravings on Japon paper, the plates engraved by Audinet Linnel, there are 12 engravings in the text after drawings by G.E.Lodge.
