Book condition: fair, very scarce 1853 publication, the author states his case for the resemblances between human beings and beasts and birds and then goes on to break down the comparisons to Germans and lions, Negroes to elephants, Arabs to camels, Chinamen to hogs, Yankees to bears, Russians to geese, Jews to goats and many more, interspersed throughout are 330 engravings, brown cloth boards feature stamped trim and design and show fading and bumping to corners, spine piece missing, replaced by two strips of brown tape, boards cracked and very loose, gutters split, small chip off one page corner, interior very clean, 334 pages, 6.25 X 9.25 inches.
