Complete series in uniform publisher's morocco-backed illustrated boards, gilt, issued by Hurst, Chance, Tilt, Bailey & Colburn. Each volume with numerous full page & vignette woodcuts by Hood. The final volume in the series, 1842, after a two year hiatus, issued in gilt cloth. Publisher's adverts to rear of each volume. With the exception of a few early numbers & some woodcuts in the final volume by John Leech, written & illustrated entirely by Hood. All first editions with the exception of 1831 which is a second edition. Frontispieces to 1830 & 1831 a little foxed, otherwise a clean set. Some light soiling to some of the printed boards, but the whole in excellent state, scarce such, and even more so complete. Vg.
