Covers show some wear, with a chip to lower back cover, horizontal tear to pp. 21-22; lacking pp. 15-20; the Owen Wister poem is printed in red and black, with the Pyle illustration printed in black & white on page 8; illustrations of changes in New York life, comparing 1801 and 1901; futuristic illustration of Broadway, NYC in 2001 with overhead train cars, dirigibles; quick lunch, wireless telephone, submarine service ads, etc., by F.
