RARE gilded & embossed illustrated hardcover book, sorry no dust-jacket. "Caspar's Find." By Bessie Marchant (Mrs. J. A. Comfort). This book is believed to be the First Edition, published by Robert Culley, London, 1905. 12mo, 19.2 cm x 12.8 cm x 2.7 cm, Brown decorated cloth-covered boards, Gilt panel and embossed lettering and white & black decoration on spine, Gilt embossed lettering and off-white and black decoration on front cover, Decorated end papers (green floral motif). 160 pages. Weight: 363 Grams. CONTENTS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!!! However, there is one crack forming in between pages 80 & 81. Spine is scuffed & slightly marked, bumped & scuffed either end, gilt a little dull & worn away in places, decoration slightly worn away in parts, Cover is slightly marked, gilt bright, decoration very nice but slightly worn away in places, edges worn & bumped. Corners are bumped & scuffed. Ink annotation, small hole & slight damage on first free end paper, ink annotation transferred over to adjacent title page in white over age tanning (not an ink transfer). Some pages (very few) have tiny edge bumps, and/or corner folds. Top edge darkened. Light Age tanning & occasional foxing throughout, more pronounced on end papers and first & last page. RARE ITEM, BEAUTIFUL INSIDE!!!
