Cloth. Condición: Very Good Indeed. None Ilustrador. First edition. A scarce account of the author's time spent in the Merchant Navy in the early twentieth century. Albert Rmitage (1864-1943) was a polar explorer and naval officer. He was second-in-command of the Jackson-Harmsworth expedition to Franz Josef Land, and aided with the rescue of Fridtjof Nansen along with his team in 1895. He was also the navigator and second-in-command to Robert Falcon Scott during the Discovery expedition to Antarctica, a trip shared with Ernest Shackleton. He later famously fell out with Scott. This work is a light-hearted recollection of his naval career, covering voyages across most of the oceans of the world.A scarce volume. From the library of Eric Kenneth Prentice Back.
