The Brotherhood of Christmas Around the World by Author Unknown was published by The Diamond Steel Construction Co., Youngstown, Ohio, in, I'm guessing, 1965. Not an ex-library copy, this roughly 40-50-year-old, 5 1/4" X 8 1/4", 11-page, soft cover offering is in VG condition. Having red, velvet-like covers, complete with a yellowish-gold tassel tied into the spine, this slender offering's only real weaknesses are some modest yellowing of text's pages, and two smallish check marks, in black ink, one in the outer margin of the Introductory page, and the other in the same, basic spot on page 6. From Introductory page, "Christmas is a time of sharing--of sharing the significance of Christ's birth and life, the ideals of peace and good will.THEN sharing gifts, food, and fun. During this Season reverence and merriment go hand in hand. Some of our Christmas customs date back to pagan times. They have been adapted to match the meanings of Christmas and complement the wonderful story of the Nativity. Each country has its ways of celebrating the Holidays. This booklet describes just a few. You'll note that some of the observances are similar. You're sure to find some that are similar to YOURS. Each of us has his way of observing and enjoying the Holidays. Each of us has his way of saying 'Merry Christmas!'. This is ours." This is, then, one of those always interesting, intriguing little pamphlets, presented by businesses or companies, often around major holidays, to thank, honor, and oftentimes inform, their loyal customers for their ongoing support/patronage. The countries featured in this presentation of their own unique Christmas customs and traditions are Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Syria, Serbia, Greece, Mexico, England, Wales, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Ukraine, Holland, Belgium, and France. THE REAL STARS OF THIS OFFERING are the 9-10 beautifully drawn, colorful Illustrations, beginning with the half dozen children, each dressed in native, yuletide garb, adorning the main Title Page. Of the remaining illustrations, no less than five(5) are FULL PAGE renderings. I only wish I could pay tribute to the Artist, but, alas, I can find no mention of him or her. Thanks!!.
