Book condition: good, very scarce, printed on handmade Riccardi paper in a run of 500 copies of which this in number 77, Medici Society, ten beautiful color illustrations by Robinson, tissue guards contain captions, DJ features list of other books by publisher on back. Hardback boards have sharp corners and barely bumped spine ends. Quarter bound linen and paper are notable dirty, with some scuffs and a faded sticker block on front. Spine has a title sticker. Binding is delicate and intact, with pastedown separating from front cover. Signatures exhibit slight gaps. Pastedowns exhibit soiling with a pencil note on the front. Green ribbon bookmark is intact and attached, but definitely fragile with age. The text body has very little scattered foxing. Tissue protecting frontis is detached, and others are coming loose. Gilt along top edge of text block. Side and lower edges are deckled. Faint musty scent from text block. Illustrations are pasted onto tipped in plates, and in generally nice condition. Some evidence of minor water damage (not evident on text pages) with minor warping and foxed gutters. Some images have some foxing (please see photo for max damage). Tissue protectors are beginning to separate from binding. Paper DJ has sunned spine and fading, with some rough wear along the edges. Overall intact, slightly water warped, with "77" written on the spine. 88 pages. 8 x 10.5 inches. Postage for oversized and international shipping will be calculated by size and weight.
