Paris, Pierre Firens, [1620], in 4°, pp [8, comprising frontespiece, engraved title, dedication to the King, advertisement, and table], 78 finely engraved heraldic plates with text beneath of the Ordre du Saint Esprit, privilege leaf at the end, title page pictorially engraved depicting the book presented to King Louis XIII, added engraved portrait of Gabriel de L' Aubespine, bound in later 19th Century blind stamped bevel edged calf , slightly worn to head of spine, contemporary provenance inscription to head of title page, a fine clean copy, FIRST EDITION; a magnificently offering engraved by Pierre Ferens for King Louis XIII who had instituted the Order in 1619 for those seen to have upheld the Catholic faith. The work is often found with full or partial colouring, often not too good, but this example is untouched. An early inscription on the title indicates it was in the library of one Johan Huysen Gattendruck and he bought it in Paris from a Mons Stringhe, 'Marchand de Middlesburgh'. This copy includes a portrait of Gabriel de L' Aubespine laid in as a frontispiece - Chevalier of the Order in 1619. 1 vol volumes. N° de ref. del artículo 131114
