Outstanding research and essay by Jeffrey W. Brown (assisted by Ellen W. Lee). Detailed chronology, catalogue listing 79 works, a description of James D. Gill's Art Galleries, Manuscript Sources and a Bibliographic note, and a complete list of exhibitions make this the essential reference. Apparently, the majority of the printed copies of this catalogue were accidently thrown out, and thus destroyed. Printed to accompany an exhibition held at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Sept. 12 to Oct. 28, 1973, one other location in Springfield, MA. Good (ex college bookstore w/ yellow & red label to spine. wraps have edge-wear, rubbing; dense speckled foxing to back wrap edge. sunning to wrap. corners rubbed. front wrap slightly detaching from glue-line at textblock. remains tightly bound.).
