Descripción

Hardcover. 12 1/8" X 9 1/4". 175pp. Moderate wear to dust jacket, with small tear and bumping to head of spine and light dust soiling. Mild edgewear and gentle bumping to corners of red cloth covered boards, with spine lettered in gilt. Slight lean to spine. Binding is tight and sound. Contents are clean, bright, and unmarked. From front flap: "This Retrospective presents for the first time the full scope of Gottlieb's artistic production. The selection is comprised of 124 of his finest works including paintings, sculpture and work on paper. Gottlieb's development is traced beginning with his paintings of the 1920's and 1930's, which contain the sources of many of the ideas he explored in his later work. These examples of Gottlieb's art, along with the excellent in-depth articles by Lawrence Alloway and Mary Davis MacNaughton, afford both the scholar and the general public a unique opportunity to view the development of Gottlieb's art in its entirety.".
