Este método va dirigido al alumnado que quiera aprender árabe con una finalidad comunicativa. Es Árabe Moderno Estándar enfocado a la comunicación del día a día. Los personajes del método pertenecen a diferentes países árabes, para que el alumno, aún oyendo árabe estándar, se vaya acostumbrando a distintos acentos. Por otra parte, se ha diferenciado entre el Árabe Estándar Moderno, que aparece impreso para la comunicación y cuya pronunciación sería la que haría un locutor profesional en un medio público, y el Árabe Estándar Relajado, hablado por un arabo parlante alfabetizado que cuida la estructura de la lengua estándar pero que no declina y mantiene características locales. Este método corresponde al nivel B1 del Marco Común de Referencia Europeo y está pensado para ser dado en unas 200 horas lectivas; a las que habría que sumar un mínimo de otras 150 de preparación y repaso por parte del alumnado. Con este método se pretende que el alumno no diga nada que no haya oído antes y que no escriba nada que no haya leído. El alumno oye y aprende de oído el vocabulario nuevo (es por esto que los textos de las audiciones no aparecen escritos en el corpus principal de la lección). A continuación, se habla para practicar los nuevos conocimientos. Leemos después, y vemos escrito el vocabulario aprendido; y finalmente, escribimos lo que hemos aprendido a decir y leer. En cada lección se encuentra aspectos concretos de fonética y ortografía para ir incidiendo en cuestiones que nos parecen de especial dificultad y que conviene ir limando y matizando. También aparecen aspectos culturales relacionados con el día a día. No es cultura con mayúsculas: literatura, arte, etc.... sino aprender, simplemente, a saber estar.

This method, that belongs to the Intermediate level, cover different topics in Arabic such as daily life routine, celebrations, food and drinks, academic life, housing and buildings and leisure and free time activities. Ash-shallal aims at providing the student with al those tools that enable him to produce and understand all the contents required in this intermediate level. The contents are distributed in five thematical blocks, which are divided into three units each. In the first unit of each block, students are exposed to a series of exercises to work on vocabulary and grammar. Afterwards, a series of texts will be used to work on the reading and written comprehension, to acquire new vocabulary and new grammar points followed by writing exercises. Then, students will work on the speaking and listening skills. On the contrary, the second unit is conceived as an extension to the contents of the previous unit, starting in the first place with exercises of speaking and listening and oral interaction and finishing with the writing skills. All the audios of the Listening exercises in the book and all the reading tetxs. In addition, Ash-shallal includes the Answer key to exercises and the transcriptions of all the listening exercises. This method corresponds to an Intermediate level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference and covers approximately 150 contact hours of instruction, plus 120 working / self-study hours by students.
