This book is the first publication presenting as many as 63 folk costumes from the whole territory of Poland. We can get to know one of the most spectacular elements of Polish peasant culture owing to the descriptions by an outstanding ethnographer Elzbieta Piskorz-Branekova and beautiful pictures by excellent photographers. The presented costumes, coming from the collections of the State Ethnographical Museum in Warsaw and many other Polish museums, delight the eye with their unique beauty, with variety and colours of fabric, with the opulence of their embroideries and laces.
