Sinopsis
Published in a limited academic edition of 300 copies. "The cultural, aesthetic, philosophical and literary shadow-lines of the present volume move along the traces of European heritage as imprinted in the times of Plato, through the iconography of the Middle Ages up to the present time. The wish of each author is to illustrate the formation of (aesthetic, literary, cultural) European identity in the time they find most inspiring in their intellectual research. From the narratives concerning the education of the future rulers as in Plato's Republic to a contemporary revision of human rights as an expression of the battle against the constraints that restrict freedom of otherness and the ethics of alterity, the route is long and the intellectual inscapes highly stimulating."
