Indira Parthasarathy is the nom de plume of Professor R Parthasarathy, a well known contemporary Indian author writing in Tamil. He has received several awards for his writing, including some of the highest honours in the fields of Indian literature and performing arts. The presitigous Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Akademi awards and Saraswati Samman are among these. He has published several novels, anthologies of short stories, plays and essays.
