Climate is a major factor affecting the profitability of rural enterprises in this state. Better knowledge of weather and climate could assist the farmers in the state in making more effective use of resources such as labour capital water etc. However like thousands of farmers across the globe the farmers in this state are also finding it hard to come to terms with the deteriorating conditions in agricultural sector marked by rising cost of cultivation and depleting ground water resources.
