The contents of the book have been designed to meet the requirements of undergraduate and postgraduate students of mechanical engineering. The book helps students develop an intuitive understanding of fluid machines by honing them through a systematic problem-solving methodology.

B.K. VENKANNA is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot, Karnataka. He obtained his B.E. (Mechanical) degree from K.U.D., Karnataka in 1984 and M.E. (Thermal Sciences) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 1987. He is in teaching profession since 1984. He is actively engaged in research work in thermal sciences (I.C. engines, alternative fuels, combustion, heat transfer and solar energy) and has published/presented 13 research papers in various national/international journals/conferences. He has guided over 40 sponsored projects and some of them have been adjudged superlative works.
