Simplified Chinese edition of Salman Rushdie's 1981 Booker Prize winner Midnight's Children. The book garnered the honor of "Booker of Bookers" Prize and the best all-time prize winners in 1993 and 2008. This novel that chronicles the life of the protagonist parallels the history of India. The book incited many controversies and led to protests from Indira Ghandi to the Muslim community in Sri Lanka. But the novel was eventually made into a film, directed by Deepa Mehta, and released in 2012, for which Mehta won Directors Guild of Canada in 2013.
