Republication of "Lu Yanshi - the prisoner" is a biographical novel by the highly acclaimed novelist Yan Gelin. The movie based on the book titled "Coming Home," directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Gong Li, is released in 2014. Yan tells a story of a carefree man named Lu Yanshi from a prominent and progressive family. Lu was smart, earned a PhD from the US, and returned to China to teach.
