Okra has remained almost neglected for its genetic improvement to increase yield potential for commercial exploitation. Based upon this research work it could be suggested that in plant breeding programmes of okra, major emphasis should be given on total fruit yield per plant followed by marketable fruit yield per plant, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, average fruit weight, plant height, crop duration and number of branches per plant. Evaluation of germplasm is the basic tool for identification of important genotypes. I hope this study will be followed up by many others.
