Sigismund von Neukomm, who was born in Salzburg in 1778 and died in Paris in 1858, was one of the biggest names on the international music scene in his time. He was a superstar of his time as a composer, conductor, and musician. More than 150 years after his death, his name is known only to a handful of experts and enthusiasts.
