This monography presents the tools available for the follow-up and the analysis of the energy input to the refining and petrochemicals industries. The first part familiarizes the reader with energy accounting in a production plant. This analytic accounting presents separately the quantitative, qualitative and economic aspects of using energy. The second part treats of the thermodynamic analysis of energy input based on the exergy (available work) balances. Apart from leading to a judgement of how efficiently the energy is put to work in the applied technology, the reader also finds a guide to distillation column sequencing and heat exchange network synthesis. The thermoeconomics are also dealt with. This book is written for the practicing engineer in industry and for the postgraduate students.About the Author:
