Grown-Ups, the World, and Me! is a delightful and thought-provoking look at the big world by a small child. How are children affected by war, racism, and environmental issues? Grown-Ups, the World, and Me! offers a youthful perspective on these and other important topics. Written by Judith Lazar and Roger Pare, and translated from French by Elisabeth Lore, the book is terrific conversation starter, with humorous illustrations that bring levity to some serious subjects.
Judith Lazar is a sociologist and the author of many books that explore problems within our society. She is especially interested in understanding why certain people become "grown-up," while others stay as active and wise as children throughout their lives. Lazar lives in Paris but considers herself a citizen of the world.
Roger Paré has illustrated more than 30 works for children, many of which he also wrote. Hi books, including L'Alphabet have been translated into several languages and distributed throughout the world. Paré was awarded the Premier Prix by the Conseil des Arts of Canada for his illustrations.
