An astute reflection on grace and it's profound implications on every aspect of our lives. One of the best I've read on the christian life. —Amazon Review
I found this book so insightful and thought provoking. I think Mr. Santos has found his passion in writing. There are so many nuggets in the book that I ordered the hard copy. I have just finished reading the book on kindle, however, I need to read it slowly, meditating on each section, as well as highlighting the many nuggets to which I would like to refer again. I have always found the verse "Faith expressing itself through love" very complicated. Mr. Santos has clarified it for me. I appreciate his honesty and self disclosure throughout the book. Toward the end he talks about those who believe spiritual gifts have ceased and those who believe they are for today. He gives a very humble and balanced explanation of both sides. Any Christian who wants to grow in his/her faith needs to read this book as an encouragement for that growth. —Amazon Review
Bob takes the profound grace of God and simplifies it with bite sized thoughts. Pondering these thoughts, studying them, and then accepting God's grace and gifts are well laid out in this book. —Amazon Review
Excellent book, well thought out with a wealth of information to apply to our daily lives. —Amazon Review
I’ve read many books by many Christian authors over a lifespan. However, this is the most insightful and thought provoking book I’ve ever read. The author introduces and explains the aspects of grace. Most people understand grace as “God’s unmerited favor”, and that is it. But the author explains that there is much more to it. He explains that grace produces love and fruit in our lives. It empowers us, transforms us, and prompts us to action. He directs you to scripture so you can see the foundation for this book. He further uses teaching examples. This book made me cry, it made me laugh, and it caused me to grow spiritually. The author writes in a manner that makes it so easy to understand and explains the concepts so clearly. As a church member I pray that pastors will pick up this book and read. So many of our churches are failing to teach these points and without them our churches are failing to grow spiritually. It is inspiring and refreshing to read about the multifaceted aspects of grace.
This book is for everyone. It will energize you and change your life. If it doesn’t then you need to read it again. —Amazon Review
Few Biblical concepts are as critical to grasp, and yet as widely misunderstood, as God's grace. In fact, one of the biggest mistakes made by the modern church involves limiting itself to a one-dimensional definition of grace.
What is grace? “Grace,” we have been told, is “God’s unmerited favor.” This is certainly true but grace is also much, much more.
The apostle Peter wrote about the "manifold" (i.e., multifaceted) grace of God (1 Peter 4:10).
Not only are Christians favored by grace, God's grace also empowers us to live in victory over sin and to influence human lives in ways that transcend our natural abilities.
Grace does not provide a license for sinful living. Instead, it does a progressive work in our hearts as we journey from the point where God accepts us as we are to the exciting place He wants to take us: a fully fruitful life.
Through the progressive work of grace, we are accepted, transformed, and empowered to become agents of change for God’s eternal kingdom!
