Robert Hollander (foreword), Professor Emeritus in European Literature at Princeton University, is the cotranslator and editor of the acclaimed three-volume Doubleday edition of The Divine Comedy. The first American elected to the Council of the Societ Dantesca Italiana, he is the founding director of the Dartmouth Dante Project and the Princeton Dante Project.
