Reseña del editor:
“What was your most interesting ... weirdest ... scariest ... funniest ... favorite case?”

In every one of the thousands of radio, TV and print media interviews he’s been the subject of since the early 1980s, Professor Loyd Auerbach has been asked this question. Yet with only a few exceptions, his cases have not appeared in any of his books.

In his new book A PARANORMAL CASEBOOK parapsychologist, paranormal investigator, author, professor, speaker and psychic entertainer Loyd Auerbach informs and entertains his readers with presentations of some of his most interesting cases from his more than 25 years of investigation. The cases run the gamut from intelligent entities to imprints of past events, from mysteriously moving objects to unusual though normal events mistaken for paranormal ones.
He’ll focus much attention on some of the more public locations he’s so often seen walking through on the many TV shows on the paranormal he’s appeared in – providing more stories and details of these investigations than one could ever get from TV. And will include Auerbach’s personal experience of the paranormal.

All of this will be wrapped in a framework providing insight into the mind of a paranormal investigator as readers learn not only what parapsychology in general thinks of these happenings, but Auerbach’s own beliefs and opinions of the phenomena and how his investigations have shaped his personal conclusions about an afterlife and psychic experience.

As with most of other books, Auerbach will also provide advice regarding how to judge how professional the self-professed ghost hunters are, where the major research centers and resources to contact are, and some of his personal recommendations for readings of other folks’ ghost stories and books about the paranormal.

Delve into the world of the man the San Francisco Chronicle called “The Sam Spade of Real Ghostbusters” in A PARANORMAL CASEBOOK: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium by Loyd Auerbach (who’s also known as Professor Paranormal).
Biografía del autor:
LOYD AUERBACH is Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations and author of the 2004 books GHOST HUNTING: How to Investigate the Paranormal and HAUNTINGS & POLTERGEISTS: A Ghost Hunter’s Guide (Ronin Publishing). His first book, ESP, HAUNTINGS AND POLTERGEISTS (1986, Warner Books) was named the “Sacred Text”` on ghosts by NEWSWEEK (in August, 1996). PSYCHIC DREAMING (1991, Warner Books; 1999 Barnes & Noble Books), deals with the current understanding of dreams in general and psychic dreams in particular. His third book, REINCARNATION, CHANNELING AND POSSESSION, was published by Warner Books in April, 1993. MIND OVER MATTER (Kensington Books, 1996) focused on the limits human beings set for themselves and on psychokinesis.
Auerbach has recounted some of his more interesting paranormal investigations on a two audio-CD set called GHOST STORIES (Michael Scott Studios, 2001). In addition, he has a video lecture ("Exploring the Real-Life X-FILES: GHOSTS) and video seminar (with psychic Annette Martin) available. In 1999, he released the first videotape on "The Haunting of the USS Hornet" (a haunted WWII era aircraft carrier in Alameda, CA).
He was a Consulting Editor & columnist for FATE Magazine, a 50+ year old national publication dealing with the “unexplained,” from the beginning of 1991 to the end of 2004.
He is currently serving his fourth year as President of the Psychic Entertainers Association (PEA), an international organization of psychic entertainers (performers of including mentalism, bizarre magick, hypnotism, cold reading, and allied arts). He is immediate past President of the California Society for Psychical Study (repeating a run from 1988-92), and was 1989 President of Assembly 112 of the Society of American Magicians, making him the first parapsychologist to have actively served as an officer of both a psychical research group and a magicians’ organization.

Auerbach is the creator and principal instructor of a new California state-registered Certification Program in Parapsychological Studies at HCH Institute, a hypnotherapy certification institution in Lafayette, CA.

Loyd Auerbach has been an Adjunct Professor in Interdisciplinary Consciousness Studies at JFK University since 1983. The university, formerly in Orinda, CA, recently moved to Pleasant Hill, CA. He also served on the faculty of Rosebridge Graduate School for Integrative Psychology 1996-1998. He holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Northwestern University (1978), and an MS in Parapsychology from JFK University (1981).
A married resident of Pleasant Hill, California, Mr. Auerbach has been teaching Parapsychology and related topics in the San Francisco Bay Area and in New York. Over the last 22 years, he has taught courses in Parapsychology, Anthropology, Altered States of Consciousness, Science Fiction, Magic, and Media. The main topics of his public lectures are "Professor Paranormal's True Tales of Ghosts & Hauntings," “Exploring the Real Life X-FILES: GHOSTS," “Mind Over Matter: Do You Have the Power?," "Are You Psychic?" and “Psychics and Charlatans.” He is represented on the national college speakers' circuit by Wolfman Productions.
He was Public Information and Media Consultant to the American Society for Psychical Research in New York from 1982 through mid-1983. While there, he acted as a spokesperson and as an intermediary to facilitate communication between the media and the parapsychological community. He is still a member of that organization, an associate member of the Parapsychological Association, and a corresponding member of the Society for Scientific Exploration.

For more than 25 years, he has been investigating cases of reported paranormal phenomena, helping people understand what may (or may not) be going on in their lives. In 1989, he founded the Office of Paranormal Investigations (OPI), a group for people to call when they believe they
