Metapsychiatry identifies the meanings of our suffering and endeavors to bring healing and fulfillment to those who are receptive. The teaching views the human journey as a glorious opportunity in which to examine all aspects of our tangible, material experience (“what seems to be”) in order to uncover and reveal to us the existence of the intangible, spiritual truth of our being (“what really is”). This book is one of a series of short volumes that present Metapsychiatric teachings through dialogues between Dr. Hora and his students.
Biografía del autor
Thomas Hora M.D., whose counseling practice in New York City spanned close to fifty years, was a renowned psychiatrist, a God-centered spiritual seeker, and a pioneer researcher of consciousness. Having observed, as a psychiatrist, that traditional treatments did not consistently alleviate a patient’s suffering, he was inspired to seek a better way. What he found was that, “All problems are psychological, and all solutions are spiritual.” Metapsychiatry springs from the spiritual teachings of Jesus, the wisdom of the Zen Masters and the Hebrew prophets. It is an approach to understanding, who we are, what we are, and what our purposes in life is and the fruits of this understanding are an ever more healthful and fulfilling life.
