Peter Hutchison first travelled extensively through Central and South America between 1993 and 1995 after gaining a degree in Development Studies specializing in Latin American Studies from Reading University. During his travels he used both versions of THE BIBLE â€" Central and Southâ€"to guide his path and spent two years working at the Bolivian Times in La Paz. Since then, regular trips to Latin America, working as a trekking guide and journeying roads less travelled on writing commissions, have kept the passion alive.The expedition was approved by the Royal Geographic Society in London, and Pete received a Travelling Fellowship award from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust to lead it. Increasingly swept away by river travel by canoe, Peter took part in the Macal River Race in Belize with Marc Gussen and Max. Peter now lives in Hanwell, West London, using this base to work as a freelance journalist and travel writer.
