With contributions from experts involved in the theory and practice of welding, this comprehensive study reviews various welding processes, including both traditional and more recent, high-energy-input welding techniques. Additional dialogue is devoted to dealing with thermal, metallurgical, and mechanical phenomena in the heat affected zone of base and molten metal, as well as the applications of welding for various materials and in various industrial fields—from steel sheets for cars and welding of stainless steels to the application of aluminum alloys. A review of the evolution of standardization in welding is also included.
