Reseña del editor:
The work of archaeologists has unlocked the world of our forebears and enabled historians to make sense of man's passage to our modern day. Artifacts, relics, bones, and ruins provide us with first-hand evidence and irrefutable proof of the practices of historical civilizations. From the pyramids of Egypt to the salt mines of Hallstatt in Austria, archaeological discoveries have revealed both the similarities and the enormous differences between us and the earlier eras of mankind. Whether you are interested in the bizarre religious practices of the Incas or the significance of the stone rows and carved faces of Carnac in France, The World Atlas of Archaeology reveals all in glowing detail. Examining archaeological sites from Newfoundland to Polynesia and piecing together a picture of life from 1000 bc to the present day, The World Atlas of Archaeology is a complete record of human development.
