Born in Brooklyn, John A. Roynesdal was raised on Staten Island. He graduated from City University of New York and earned a Masters Degree in English Literature from The University of Wisconsin. After teaching in Hartford County, Conn., for 34 years, Roynesdal finally retired to Hawaii, where he is presently writing more Phillip Michael Carnegie mysteries.
