Reseña del editor:
This informative guide to the awe-inspiring landscapes of the greater southwest is a non-technical account of what they are, where they are, and how they came to be. Full of visual and factual surprises, this book is made to be enjoyed on many levels. Each page-spread is self-contained for clarity and easy of use on the road. This guide covers the lands from west Texas to southern California and from northern Utah to northern Mexico. The text blends travel tips, Native American Legends, prehistoric and historic vignettes, and—as a unifying theme—explanations of the earthly processes and events that have shaped land, people, and wildlife. Over 300 color photographs, 33 drawings, and seven customized maps support the text. In the back of the book there are resources to help outdoor adventure seekers plan their trip.
