Drawing on interviews with Filipino women, this text examines the relationship between women and militarism in the Philippines. In particular, it looks at women recruits in the armed forces, women anti-guerilla fighters, women victims of military violence, and at the role of the West, especially the US, in shaping Filipino society past and present.

Anne-Marie Hildson is an academic who has undertaken extensive research in the Philippines over the last ten years.
