Reseña del editor:
This book covers all the practical skills and aesthetic considerations involved in photographing this popular subject. Split into three comprehensive sections, the book covers technical matters, such as choice of equipment, lighting, exposure and depth of field; colour theory, including the colour wheel, colour harmony and the effect of the time of day on colour; and artistic considerations, such as composition, backgrounds, soft focus, special effects and ways to exhibit your images. The author moves beyond the straightforward depiction of flowers to something more abstract, drawing upon both common and more exotic flowers as inspiration.
Biografía del autor:
Sue Bishop has been taking photographs for 18 years, and has always found flowers to be the subject she returns to with a passion. Her sumptuous images blur the boundaries between photography and art, with an emphasis on colour and form that often creates and abstract composition.
Sue has exhibited her work many times, including at the Mall Galleries and the Royal Horticultural Society in London. She has contributed photographs and articles to photographic magazines and has sold work for use in travel brochures and books, as well as selling print to a range of clients around the world. Her range of photographic greetings cards was shortlisted for the Henries Awards in 2000 and in the same year her photograph of a wildflower meadow in Andalucia was highly commended in the prestigious BG Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition and exhibited in the Natural History Museum, London, before going on tour worldwide.
In 1994, Sue and fellow photographer Charlie Waite founded Light & Land, which runs photographic tours to destinations all over the world.
