If you met Artie you would say he had an attitude problem. But are some of his problems of his own making? Life at home isnt easy no dad, and mum having to give more attention to a younger sister. Then comes what Artie thinks is a day from hell everything that can go wrong does. But a meeting with a mysterious stranger gives him the chance to re-live the day and put things right. Does Artie make the right decisions? Well, it does take more than one attempt! Paul Manship is writing what he knows about life in a primary school in Newport. This world with its playtime dramas, bullies and friendships is evocatively brought to life. There are many boys like Artie, and hopefully this book will strike a chord with them. Hopefully, too, they will appreciate the message of the book: that we are responsible for our own behaviour and what we do has repercussions for other people. However perhaps some would feel this was all a bit worthy. An enjoyable and readable book.
