Debbie has designed the projects in this book so they are as simple as possible. This doesn't make the designs any less and if you are more seasoned she wants you to add your own flourish to her designs. Debbie takes you through the basics at the start of the book. This covers everything from materials, tools and techniques. There are clear instructions with pictures to make it easier for you to understand. I love Debbie's tips that help you. Why not make these items yourself and make them attractive to match your decor? They also make great gifts. As does this book if you can bear to part with it. This is a good book for those who have not done quilting before to practice some different skills, and at the front is a section where you can learn the basics. Get to grips with piping, quilting essentials, making bias binding to match your project, mitring corners and more before tackling a project. Total sewing beginners are advised to learn the fundamentals elsewhere, but this is not intended to be that rudimentary. Projects list what you need and have written instructions with a few photographs of the item in progress for tricky parts, although not with every item. Templates for applique etc are at the back but mostly it is a case of measuring out simple shapes while you learn about wadding, stitching methods and applique. As well as tea and egg cozies you can find a mug hug, covers for hot water bottles, tablets, books and cellphones and fun ways of hiding away toilet rolls, tissue boxes and your sewing machine.
