Alison Bing es licenciada en Historia del Arte y Relaciones Internacionales en la Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, un programa conjunto de las universidades Tufts y Harvard, lo que le confiere unas respetables credenciales diplomáticas que le han permitido hacer todas aquellas cosas que un viajero debería probar y otras que seguramente no. Ha sobrevivido a narrar cuentos y viajes para Lonely Planet, NPR, BBC Travel, The Telegraph, New York Times y otros medios globales. Tras más de 10 guías y 20 años en San Francisco, Alison ha pasado más tiempo en Alcatraz que algunos internos.
